I developed a website about Sir John Wolfe Barry, who built Tower Bridge (picture left), to commemorate the centenary of his death on 22 January 1918.
I am currently writing a book about him, his architect father Sir Charles Barry, and two of his architect brothers, as well as the famous Brunel family of civil engineers who were connected to them through John.
Engineering & Architectural History
My research for the other website provided useful contextual knowledge for those (who will be) involved in designing and building structures.
It includes research on the Barry family's architectural and engineering talents, Sir John Wolfe Barry’s leadership positions in the Victorian and Edwardian engineering and associated sectors, and his close working relationship with Henry, son of the great British engineer, Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
